The situation in Panchkula after the pronouncement of judgment was such that the Punjab & Haryana High Court made a decision to shift the place of sitting of the CBI court from Panchkula to Rohtak for hearing on the sentencing of the rapist.

After Ram Rahim's conviction, thousands of his supporters massed near a court in Panchkula went berserk, burning cars, damaging property and targeting residents. "From arranging a special helicopter to providing an air-conditioned room and helping in using facilities meant for police officers, the Khattar government is extending all help to the lawfully disgraced Dera chief even after his conviction in such a serious crime as rape". Based on this information the weapons have been seized.

He added that it had been reported by the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, Sirsa that the devotees might attempt to breach peace and tranquillity and resort to arson, leading to damage of properties.

Police said the situation is under control in and around Dera headquarters.

"I feel motivated", said sub-inspector Sunil Kumar of Mansa police station. Surprise checks are also being carried out in nearby villages. The town has been put under police and military lockdown.

All educational institutions, including government and private schools, colleges and other institutions, in Panchkula, Rohtak, Kaithal, Ambala, Bhiwani and Fatehabad districts will remain closed on Monday.

According to a report published by Times of India, which has access to statements of the rape victims, the survivors have said that the Dera chief used to flaunt his demigod status while raping them.

Singh, who claims to have more than 50 million followers worldwide, could face a minimum seven years in prison for raping two of his female devotees.

"We have recovered one AK 47 rifle and one Mauser (rifle) from the vehicle of a Dera follower and two rifles and five pistols from another vehicle during the operations", Haryana DGP B S Sandhu said. "Anyone who creates trouble will be taught a lesson, like in Panchkula and Sirsa", he said.

Punjab Advocate General Atul Nanda submitted in the court that there were 51 incidents in the state with 39 FIRs being registered.

On Monday morning, the IG again took a round to review security arrangements around the jail premises.

Mehrishi said the Home Minister also discussed the ongoing gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, where three security personnel were killed earlier in the day.

He later said he will investigate and that he did not know about it. Honeypreet, a close aide of the controversial godman, accompanied him with several bags and suitcases till the prison near Rohtak.
