Google's 4th October Event: New Pixel Phones, Speakers To Launch

Google Assistant appears in Home app referencing Chromebooks

Google last month bought a unit of HTC that built its first generation of Pixel phones a year ago, strengthening its hardware division. Based on preliminary leaks, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are said to be manufactured by HTC and LG respectively.

The official launch event is scheduled to begin at 9am PT (9:30pm IST) on Wednesday.

Google is gearing up to unveil their second generation Pixel smartphone on October 4th.

Is Google Pixel 2 XL worth the wait? So, it suggests that Google has also ditched the audio port.

Value Walk reported that the Pixel 2 will come along with a 2,700mAh battery, while the larger model features a 3,520mAh battery. Fortunately, Evan Blass uploaded an official press render of Pixel 2 XL which confirms that Google made a decision to rip a page out of Apple and Samsung's design book.

But since it's right before the final launch of the new Pixel devices, we're getting plenty of leaks to ruin the suspense. That's perfectly adequate, but identical to the original Pixel's display. It is rumoured to get the same two-tone finish, rounded corners and similar size.

Dual-camera setup is that aspect of the phones we aren't sure about.

The Pixel 2 will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. There are also some rumors that some phones will come with USB-C headphones. It is reportedly expensive as it will be priced at $1,200 for 128GB.

Nevertheless, it could just be the rendering that makes things look a little different and Google could have changed things last minute. A code hidden away in the Google Home app hints at the arrival of Google Assistant for Chromebooks.

Google phones are starting to establish themselves on the market.

The smaller model will arrive with a 4GB of RAM, while the larger variant will feature a 6GB of RAM. The Pixelbook will most likely run on Chrome OS. That's a big deal if you're planning to use the Google Daydream View VR headset. The handset will come in Light Blue, Black and White colours. Let us know in the comments section below.
