The Chiefs opened up the new National Football League season by shocking everyone by not only defeating the New England Patriots, but demolishing them handily 42-27.

The Redskins enter this game off of what might be their biggest win in two seasons. The game has a scheduled start time of 8.30 p.m. ET, and takes place from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Through three games, Smith has thrown seven touchdowns without throwing a pick and his 132.7 passer rating is tops in the NFL.

Cousins has a formidable deep ball and the gumption to sling it at will, but he's at his best when establishing shorter passes early, developing a balanced rhythm and utilizing play action.

Washington has yet to play a game this season where they hit the over. The running back has 401 yards on 47 carries, a staggering per-carry average of 8.5 yards. The sim data actually has the home side favored by 10 points, indicating a whole lot of value on the 7-point spread. Starting center Mitch Morse will miss his second straight game, which puts Zach Fulton in the starting lineup in his spot. However, the Redskins have a weapon at running back as well. Samaje Perine did a serviceable job and avoided negative runs. CB Josh Norman went out of the game with a rib fracture and safety Montae Nicholson is now dealing with an AC joint sprain.

Redskins cornerback Deshazor Everett also left for a portion of the game, and Quinton Dunbar was shaken up on a punt. This will continue into the second half, and the Redskins have to be happy with the formula that they have figured out. While the Chiefs appear the better team, the Redskins are coming off a drubbing of Oakland last week in primetime.

Tight end Jordan Reed is Cousin's favorite target, especially on third down and in the red zone, but the often-injured end is listed as questionable for Monday's game.

The Redskins need to pay this man. Kirk Cousins plays with incredible heart, and almost willed his team to the victory inside Arrowhead Stadium. This gave Washington a 17-14 lead. In the past three years, the Chiefs are 19-6 there and gain an extra edge from their raucous fan base. QB Alex Smith had three touchdowns and has beaten two of the best teams in the league to start the season.

The Washington Redskins picked up one of the most impressive wins in Week 3.

Washington is anchored by Chris Thompson. Keep in mind the Redskins have never won here and their only win against the Chiefs came at RFK Stadium back when Joe Gibbs was the head coach, not a NASCAR owner. Thompson also leads the team with 4 touchdowns. As always, I'll be riding with you with the Get More Sports live blog right here on the site. The Chiefs are trying to stay ideal and a game clear of the Broncos in the AFC West.

Safety D.J. Swearinger, defensive linemen Matt Ioannidis and Terrell McClain; and OLB Preston Smith all had sacks on Chiefs QB Alex Smith... which is awesome.
